ARTICLES OF THE BYLAWS
ARTICLE 1: NAME, STATUS, AND MOTTO
Section 1: Name of the Association
The Association shall be known and addressed as ENUGU STATE ELITE WOMEN ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA. (ESEWAC)
Section 3: Motto
The ESEWAC’s motto is United We Stand…Together We Can Make a Difference
ARTICLE 4: MEMBERSHIP
Section 2: Registration
To join ESEWAC, each prospective member must complete the registration form, pay a uniform fee of sixty dollars ($60.00) and a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of one hundred dollars ($100).

A member is considered active if she:

Associate members shall not be entitled to full ESEWAC’s benefits, but shall only receive fifty percent (50%) of all benefits

ARTICLE 9: MEETINGS
Section 2: Quorum for General Meetings
Five (5) members physically present at the venue shall constitute a quorum for the general meeting. The five (5) members shall be made up of two (2) Executives (President/Vice-President, Secretary or any other Executive) and three members.

ARTICLE 11: MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS/ SUPPORT/ASSISTANCE
Section 1: Eligibility for Benefits
For any member to be eligible for benefits, the member must have been a registered member for at least one (1) year, must be in good financial standing with ESEWAC, and must comply with the Constitution/By-laws.
Section 3: Death Benefits for Members and Spouses

Section 5: Death of a Biological or Legal Parent
Section 6: Benefit for Childbirth or a Naming Ceremony
Upon the birth of a child or upon invitation to attend a naming ceremony of a member’s child, the sum of one Fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be donated to the member.
Section 7: Weddings/Jubilees Benefits
Section 8: Hospitalization Benefits
Upon notification that a member is hospitalized for a continuous period of greater than fourteen-days (14) ESEWAC’s Welfare/ Hospitalization Committee shall arrange for a hospital visit, and a get-well card shall be signed by all members present; voluntary money donation shall be collected and presented to that member.
Section 9: Send-Off Benefit
After due notification to ESEWAC, a member who is moving out of California for whatever reason shall be presented with a gift in the form of a plaque. The cost of the plaque will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).
Section 11: Uniforms
ARTICLE 12: RIGHT TO PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Members shall not use or share any private personal information obtained through an ESEWAC member or former member, for purposes other than ESEWAC-approved events, etc. The private personal information shall include telephone numbers, addresses, email addresses, etc.
